A Methodology That Enhances Understanding

We believe that engaged participation is essential for effectively understanding new concepts. That's why we use the Active Methodology in our teaching. This approach transforms classroom dynamics, promoting student engagement through prompting them to form and investigate hypotheses, navigating towards answers through facilitated teacher inputs. As a result, students participate more readily, becoming engaged with subject matter and readily contributing to class discussions.

Guided by internationally experienced teachers, pupils produce outcome-based projects, translating abstract concepts into tangible knowledge that can be called on in future situations. Learning Goals

Mini-Lessons

Mini-lessons provide an opportunity for students to solidify the knowledge gained during project-based work. These focused, teacher-led sessions solidify and structure essential insights, ensuring the sequential building of understanding.

Active Engagement

Pupils participate in structured class debates, requiring them to apply knowledge to unfamiliar topics. Through active participation, pupils enhance important research, communication, and critical thinking abilities, generate further areas of exploration, and strengthening public-speaking abilities.

Independent Study

Students are expected to take ownership of their study, participating in both independent study alongside group work. This practice promotes reading skills, enhances lateral thinking, and builds confidence by providing pupils with room to explore their unique perspectives.

Peer Correction

Guided by our value of kindness and correction criteria provided by the teacher, this enables constructive exchanges between classmates. Students provide each other with comments and corrections following an exercise, building resilience and empathy.

Projects

Project-based learning is the foundation of our approach. Active participation in this kind of work sparks curiosity, encouraging deeper investigation and the development of hypotheses. This approach encourages complete engagement in the full project process, helping students find creative answers, supporting the growth of an entrepreneurial mindset.

Exit Ticket

Exit tickets provide students with the opportunity for immediate and relevant feedback on the lesson’s objectives. This includes receiving constructive criticism, helping to guide next steps, and identifying areas where additional support may be needed.

Context-Rich Language Acquisition

Our school's focus is to prepare students for modern experiences by instilling a global, multicultural outlook that honors Portuguese identity. We believe that bilingual education helps to support this vision, cultivating a broad vision of the world while equipping pupils with linguistic fluency that will unlock academic and career pathways

Our approach is based on the renowned Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) framework. This methodology utilizes full immersion in the language, taking language tuition out of the traditional classroom setting and placing it in context, significantly improving understanding. At our school, this involves conducting routine moments in English alongside 60-80% of all lessons. This helps add meaning to new words, building a “Born Bilingual” level of competency in both academic and communicative dialects that prepares students to thrive in educational and working environments.

Our teachers all possess exceptional English abilities, with several lecturing in the language at a university level. This ensures every child is exposed to correct phonics and grammar from the start. This allows pupils to communicate with confidence and be understood by speakers across the globe.

Developing 21st Century Skills

Technology is thoughtfully integrated throughout key moments in our curriculum, providing opportunities for learning and collaboration. Dedicated Creative Tech subjects, coding classes, media labs, and digital citizenship are available from Grade 1 onwards, further solidifying digital skills. Media

Our school’s extensive media lab introduces pupils to the power of images, video, and audio-visual narratives, providing practical experience in the full production, editing, and assembly process.

Coding & Computational Thinking

Maker Product Design

Through Maker Lessons, students are challenged to solve real problems by constructing innovative digital and manual products. This hands-on learning is facilitated in our modern, well-equipped Maker Space, featuring professional resources such as 3D printers, laser cutters, electronic CAD devices, and materials for wood and resin work.

Digital Literacy

While many pupils consider themselves digital natives, they remain naive to the potential dangers the online world poses. In addition to enhancing practical abilities through educational technologies, we place a strong focus on safety and responsible technological use. We empower students to become wise, responsible digital leaders who master the online world.

Preparing for the Future with Emotional Skills

Beyond academic study, we emphasize emotional well-being and recognize how well-developed socioemotional skills can influence academic and personal growth. To support academic and personal growth we utilize the LIV methodology alongside pioneering a new Character Education program in our school. We are the first in Distrito Federal to implement this innovative framework that gained popularity in top schools across the USA and UK, demonstrating improved schooling outcomes, increases in admissions to leading universities, and better workplace progression.

The LIV method was specifically created to address the needs of Brazilian students, helping them recognize and regulate their emotions through culturally relevant materials. This framework has become widely recognized for its effectiveness in building a solid foundation of emotional understanding that leads to well-rounded adults, prepared to navigate complex relationships and situations with ease.
